The Oregon Ducks had a great 2023 season but couldn’t beat one team, the Washington Huskies. After losing to the team midseason, the Pac-12 championship game was no different. Oregon now misses out on the College Football Playoff. After the game, Nix was asked whether he would play in the bowl game and he remained noncommittal.
Oregon Ducks Bo Nix On Playing In Bowl Game
In the College Football Playoff era, many of the top players have decided to skip the bowl game. The risk of injury is too great as they prepare for the NFL Draft. “That’s not today, that decision,” Nix said. “I have no idea. I’m looking forward to whatever bowl game that is chosen for us. I’m just trying to get over that loss. So I’m not really thinking about anything after today.” Nix was clearly disappointed and likely wants to see the matchup and what his draft projection is.
What Should Nix Do?
He has played a ton of games in college football. It likely behooves him to sit out. He is a projected first-round pick in many mock drafts with a lot of analysts having him as the third quarterback off the board after Caleb Williams and Drake Maye. There is too much on the line if he does play. Still, players are competitive and often do not want to sit out of any game.
The Oregon Ducks had a great season even though it ended in disappointment. At this point, we wait for the bowl matchups to see what great games we could see at the end of the season.
