Oklahoma State is now the new big dog in the Big 12. With Texas and Oklahoma leaving to join the SEC, the conference now turns over to Oklahoma State as one of their most prominent teams, and when you are a team in the spotlight, everything you do or say will be noted.
Ollie Gordon II Was Arrested on Suspicion of DUI In June
Gordon was the 2023 Doak Walker Award winner, given to the best running back in college football. When you have a star on your team like Gordon, your head coach has to defend him as much as possible, even in the wrong; on Tuesday at Big 12 media days, Oklahoma State’s head coach Mike Gundy defended Gordon, and he said a little too much that should anger fans.
Oklahoma State’s Head Coach Admits To Driving Drunk Over 1,000 Times
Gundy said in a video that he looked up what the legal limit was when it comes to driving drunk and stated in Oklahoma, it’s .08, and Ollie Gordon’s was .10, which is over the legal limit. He looked it up, and it was based on body weight, and he thought two to three beers or four could do it, and he said he’s probably done that over 1,000 times in his life.
“I looked it up on my phone- what would be the legal limit?… 2 or 3 beers, or 4. I’m not justifying what Ollie did; I’m telling you what decision I made. Well, I thought, I’ve probably done that a thousand times in my life.” – Mike Gundy pic.twitter.com/MfHrkNPIm8

Gundy pretty much admitted that he has driven drunk over 1,000 times in his life, and that is something you might want to keep to yourself. I understand defending your player, but at the same time, drinking while driving is a severe issue, and it’s nothing to shake off. Gundy doesn’t care about it here.
Hopefully, Gundy thinks about what he said because admitting to drinking and driving is not a good look when you’re the leader of over 100 young men every single year.
