It hasn’t been a good Sunday for the Ohio State Buckeyes. A couple of players have already entered the transfer portal and another talented player will follow. Cornerback Jyaire Brown, a talented freshman, has announced he is entering the transfer portal.

Ohio State CB Jyaire Brown Enters Transfer Portal
Brown had a solid season for the Buckeyes as a freshman. In 10 games, he had eight tackles, four pass breakups, and a forced fumble. This is exactly what a program wants out of a young corner. However, in the current college football landscape, players can become unhappy with their situation quickly and look to move. Brown still has three years of eligibility left and will likely be a nice pickup for another program.
Concern For Ryan Day And The Buckeyes?
It is hard to know how much to panic after this week. We’ve never seen this type of action in the transfer portal so it feels like a lot of movement. However, losing three players in one day can’t feel good. Day has a lot of questions to answer after losing to Michigan for the third straight year and subsequently missing out on the College Football Playoff. This may not be the reason that players are leaving the program but it sure won’t help Day and his staff get the team back to the top of the Big Ten.
Ohio State still has top recruiting classes coming in. However, the Big Ten will be much harder next year with Oregon, Washington, USC, and UCLA being added to the mix. Day and his staff certainly have their work cut out for them.
