In the age of the quarterback for the NFL the top of the league are making the big bucks. Some of the top of the league are set to make close, or above $50 million this year, and it has been reported that the salary cap is about to reach an all time high. So we are likely to see these numbers increase swiftly and drastically.
There are also a few of the top quarterbacks that are set to get paid this off season, and in future seasons, which will likely break this top ten list even before the start of the 2024 season. At the moment however, all of the “elite” guys are in this list and the ones that are not should enter soon. Guys like Kirk Cousins, Tua Tagavailoa, and others should be getting paid this off season, and some of them should enter the top ten list.
There are a few surprises on the list and some guys that most NFL fans would agree should definitely not be on the list. It is truly a lucrative business to be a quarterback of a NFL football team.
1. Joe Burrow – $55 Million
2. Justin Herbert – $52.5 Million
3. Lamar Jackson – $52 Million
4. Jalen Hurts – $51 Million
5. Russel Wilson – $48.5 Million
6. Kyler Murray – $46.1 Million
7. Deshaun Watson – $46 Million
8. Patrick Mahomes – $45 Million
9. Josh Allen – $43 Million
10. Tie: Matthew Stafford, Daniel Jones, Dak Prescott – $40 Million
It is crazy to think that Patrick Mahomes the back to back champion is fifth on this list making him the biggest steal on the list. I also don’t think the Bills, Bengals, Ravens or Chargers are doing much complaining either. The Broncos have to be regretting the Russel Wilson deal and the Browns and Giants can’t be happy with their deals for Watson and Jones, respectively.
Dak Prescott, who is tied at the bottom of this top ten list, is sure to be rising the ranks this coming off season. It has been reported that the Cowboys will make him the highest if not of the highest paid quarterbacks in the league with a new deal. Beyond Dak, we should see Tua, or perhaps Trever Lawrence jump onto this list soon as they are both getting ready for a big deal in the near future.
