The NFL was taken by storm by the crazy news that came from the Denver Broncos on Monday. Russell Wilson’s time with Denver is officially over as the team has decided to part ways with their veteran quarterback. Denver had traded for Wilson in a blockbuster move that did not work out to say the least.
Russell Wilson Pens Classy Letter To Broncos Country
“Broncos Country, Thank You”
Russell started his letter calling back to when he got there. Wilson thanked the fans and incredible Broncos country for his time in Denver. It is note worthy that he did not mention any of the Broncos coaches or staff in his heart felt letter. Russell dealt with class and respect to the fans but it appears he does not appreciate how he was dealt with by the staff in Denver.
“Over these last two years, you have welcomed my family and me with open arms and embraced us as members of the Denver community. This city will always hold a special place in my heart. Our family grew here, we made countless memories and friendships, and formed relationships that will last a lifetime.”
Russell Wilson’s Letter Continued
Russell addressed his teammates and the fans in his heart felt letter but he made sure to leave out coach Sean Payton and all of the staff and upper office of the franchise. It is truly one of the worst contracts ever in the NFL as Wilson has already been cut from the team.
“To my teammates, thank you for going to battle together and for being there through it all. There are so many moments that I cherish because of you and I am blessed for the impact you have made on my life. I am beyond grateful for all of you and to have been able to run out as your teammate was an honor.”
Wilson will be looking for a new team in this crazy free agency off-season and the Broncos will be looking for a replacement either within the league or in the draft.
