Even though Colorado Buffaloes’ Travis Hunter isn’t a pro yet, he has been getting a lot of attention lately because of his impressive performance on the field. According to an NFL analysis, though, the wide receiver may find a good home with the New England Patriots or Indianapolis Colts next year.

Hunter, the standout wide receiver from Colorado, has made a significant impact in the college football landscape this season. Known for his exceptional athleticism and versatility, Hunter has quickly risen in the ranks of 2025 NFL Draft prospects. His unique ability to both catch passes and contribute on defense showcases his dual-threat capability, making him a coveted player for NFL teams looking for dynamic talent.

Hunter’s performance has been characterized by impressive route running, reliable hands, and the ability to stretch the field, which has drawn comparisons to some of the league’s top wide receivers. His knack for making difficult catches in contested situations highlights his competitive nature and determination on the field.

Moreover, Hunter’s contributions extend beyond the offense. His skills on defense as a cornerback allow him to excel in multiple roles, providing teams with strategic flexibility. This dual capability is particularly appealing in today’s NFL, where versatility can be a game-changer.

As the season progresses, NFL scouts are paying close attention to Hunter’s development and performance metrics. His college stats speak volumes, and if he continues to deliver at this level, he could solidify his position as a top pick in the upcoming draft.

There’s every reason Hunter will be top pick when the 2025 NFL Draft rolls around. According to an analysis by Bleacher Report’s Ryan Fowler, the Buffaloes star may end up playing for the Patriots or Colts sometime next year.

In a sport where players are often pigeonholed into specific roles, Travis Hunter is redefining what it means to be a flat-out star. Against the Bearcats, Hunter proved once again why he deserves to be in the conversation for the No. 1 overall selection in April, amassing 68 offensive snaps with 62 more coming on defense.

He has continued to showcase the ability to take over a game on either side of the line of scrimmage, an ability we have not often seen in college football’s illustrious history.  Health is the only thing that will hamper Hunter from potentially winning the Heisman Trophy and going No. 1 overall come springtime. He’s sensational.

Potential NFL Fits: New England Patriots, Indianapolis Colts

Hunter has emerged as a standout prospect in the 2025 Draft, showcasing his remarkable versatility as both a wide receiver and cornerback for Colorado. In Week 9, he recorded nine receptions for 153 yards and two touchdowns, while also contributing defensively with four pass breakups.

His ability to dominate on both sides of the ball sets him apart, making him a candidate for the No. 1 overall pick. If Hunter maintains his health and performance, he could be a transformative player for any NFL team, particularly the Patriots or Colts.
