After over a year since his retirement, former superstar quarterback Tom Brady is now making his mark as a broadcaster for the NFL. As such, the seven-time champion shared the big key to success to his new career.
After being selected in the sixth round of the 2000 Draft by the New England Patriots, Brady rose to become one of the most accomplished players in league history. All in all, Brady played a total of 23 years in the league for the Patriots and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
As the Patriots’ starting quarterback for 18 seasons, Brady led the team to unprecedented success, winning 17 division titles, 13 AFC Championship games, and a remarkable nine Super Bowl appearances, winning six championships. His individual records are equally impressive, including seven Super Bowl titles, the most by any player, and five Super Bowl MVPs, also a league record.
His exceptional longevity and performance are exemplified by his career statistics, which include the most passing yards, attempts, and touchdown passes in both the regular season and playoffs. He is the only quarterback to win the Super Bowl for multiple franchises, adding a seventh title with the Buccaneers in 2020.
Retired from the NFL since 2024, Brady has now transitioned into sports broadcasting, making his debut in the UFL Championship Game. He has been seen rehearsing endlessly to hone his current craft.
Former NFL Star Quarterback Tom Brady Reveals Reason For Success in Broadcasting Career
Similar to football, Brady believes that being successful in broadcasting comes down to the preparation. In an article posted on Fox Sports, the GOAT shared the key to his current success.
“Did I feel like I was prepared?” Brady said. “Did I feel like our crew was prepared? Did I give them the best over the course of the week so that we could give ourselves the best opportunity to be successful for the fans? Because really, the game is the show. We’re there to add our take on it and our analysis. But it’s also, did we feel like we added to the broadcast?
“From my standpoint, I’m gonna work as hard as I can in the process of it to make sure I do deliver, because I don’t want to let anyone down. I don’t want to let the people at FOX here down, and I certainly don’t want to let the great NFL fans down either. … [How am I] working on the things that are actually going to add to the broadcast rather than just working on things to work on them that will actually never come up?” the article stated.
Brady made his debut as a sports broadcaster, covering the UFL Championship Game alongside Curt Menefee and Joel Klatt. The retired football icon has also been honing his skills by reviewing archived game footage at the FOX Sports studios in Los Angeles, as he continues to pursue his post-playing career.
Even though he hasn’t been doing this for long, there’s a good chance Brady can spend a good number of years as a broadcaster. With his sharp mind for the game and wealth of experience on the field, there’s no better guy out there to make the transition to this field than the NFL’s GOAT.
