The UFL has become a major recruiting hotspot for the NFL, with many players getting the opportunity for workouts in the pros ahead of the 2024 season. While there have been over 17 players to get a workout for the league, there are now at least 8 players that have signed contracts to be on league rosters for this upcoming season.

While some may not get to see the field during the regular season, it appears that others were signed to be on the field and even start for certain teams.

This past Tuesday night, the UFL highlighted and celebrated all the 8 players who, have so far, signed contracts this week for the upcoming season.

    The list is as follows:

    • Jake Bates, K, Detroit Lions
    • Jacob Saylors, RB: New York Giants
    • Jalen Redmond, DL: Minnesota Vikings
    • Liam Fornadel, OL: New England Patriots
    • Willie Harvey, LB: Dallas Cowboys
    • Daewood Davis, WR: Carolina Panthers
    • Gareon Conley, CB: Dallas Cowboys
    • Kohl Levao, OL: New York Jets

This number of players is also likely to rise soon, if it has not already since Tuesday night. As mentioned prior, there are at least 9 other players who conducted workouts with teams, and there are more to come. So there should be even more UFL players to make the jump this year.

Per Aaron Wilson of KPRC, the Atlanta Falcons are reportedly signing an offensive linemen in Jaryd Smith and a defensive tackle Prince Emili. Additionally, the Seattle Seahawks are bringing in running back Ricky Person, who was on the championship winning team the Birmingham Stallions. He logged over 100 yards rushing in the UFL Championship game.

The Denver Broncos are also reportedly jumping into the mix of UFL players as they are set to sign defensive tackle Dondrea Tillman. Kicker Ramiz Ahmed is also expected to sign with the Washington Commanders which would already bring our total in players to 12. The Dallas Cowboys have been the most busy team when it comes to recruitment out of the UFL as they have already signed three players.

The reports coming from Dallas say that number may increase as well.

It is incredible to see the growth that the UFL has made over the last half decade, and getting to see these players make the push from one league to another is quite special. You can’t help but root for some of these players as everyone loves a good redemption story. We will have to wait and see which of these guys will get to see the field and who can maybe even become a starter for an NFL roster.
