NFL fans are heartbroken over the news from the New Orleans Saints surrounding their star do-it-all player Taysom Hill. Hill has been a team and league favorite ever since he came into the NFL with his ability to play almost every single position on the football field.
On Sunday, Hill suffered a brutal season-ending injury. With the new information on the devasting injury, fans are taking to social media to share their thoughts and prayers for Hill, and their hopes that he will be able to return to the field.
NFL Fans React To Brutal Taysom Hill Injury
In the Saints’ loss to the Los Angeles Rams, Hill took a helmet to his knee which was bent brutally. At 35 years old, it will be a very long road of recovery for Hill, who was officially diagnosed with a torn ACL per NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport. He also reported that there was “additional damage” to Hill’s knee and that this would be a longer injury to come back from than a usual ACL tear.
At 25, it is incredibly hard for a player to come back from such an injury, and when NFL fans learned of the news they were all taking to social media to wish Hill a speedy recovery and that they all hoped they would get to see him again on the field in the future:
“Least deserving person in the world of an injury,” a Saints fan wrote on social media.
“We lost Taysom Football. A dark day for the NFL indeed,” a fan declared.
“Hope he has a fast recovery,” a fan said. “Sucks that this could potentially be his last season and it ends like this, but his impact was incredible.”
“I really hope this isn’t the last we’ve seen of 7 in black and gold,” a Saints fan said.
Hill is used to season-ending injuries sadly as he suffered four brutal injuries in his time in college at BYU, and he is one of the most incredible athletes that the league has ever seen. So if anyone can come back from this injury at that age it would be Taysom.
Hill has played almost every position on offense that you can, including; quarterback, receiver, tight end, running back, and special teams returning. In 8 games this season Hill has totaled: 464 scrimmage yards and six touchdowns.
Hill has played through this season with some intense injuries including cracked ribs, but now he will be missing the rest of the season for the Saints.
Hill is a leader in the locker room, and a team and fan favorite, so this loss has impacted the entire organization:
“A lot of the guys are disappointed,” Saints interim coach Darren Rizzi said after Hill’s injury, per ESPN’s Katherine Terrell. “He’s obviously a very respected and well-liked guy in our locker room.”
There has never been a player like Hill, and any NFL fan hopes that he will make a quick and speedy recovery and be able to come back to the field as soon as possible!
