This week in the NFL we will be heading to South to watch the Miami Dolphins take on the Tennessee Titans. Miami has been on a tear as of late, they destroyed the Commanders 45-15 and are looking to do the exact same against a struggling Titans team. Tennessee is coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Colts in overtime 31-28. They are going on the road to a hostel environment where Miami has seen a ton of success this season not dropping a game at home this year.
The Miami Dolphins
Miami is now 9-3 on the year and are the #1 seed in the AFC. They are on a 3 game win streak and they will look to continue their success at home. Tua and the Dolphin offense continue to roll offensively and that did not stop against Washington. They put up 406 total yards and 45 points (31 in the first half). Their defense even added to the mix with a pick six thanks to Andrew Van Ginkel who has stepped up with the loss of star pass rusher Jalen Phillips.
Miami can cruise right now, but their season is far from over. Their last 3 games are against Dallas, Baltimore and Buffalo. Luckily for them, 4 of their last 5 games are at home. To beat the narrative that they don’t beat good teams and to have momentum going into the playoffs, these games are vital for their confidence. Once again, it all lies on how they play against the “better” teams. Which to me, is a crazy statement. Yes, there are definitely bad teams in the NFL, but it’s still an “any given Sunday” mentality where you can lose any week no matter what team you play.
The Tennessee Titans
Tennessee will have their work cut out for them this week. They have been ineffective on offense and lackluster on defense. Not exactly how you want to be playing when you have to go up against an AFC powerhouse in Miami. They will need to rely heavy on the run game with Derrick Henry and Tajae Sharpe.
With Jalen Ramsey and Xavien Howard in the secondary, I don’t see Will Levis having a very successful game through the air. I would expect an interception or 2 from Miami. After a huge hit suffered by Derrick Henry last Sunday, I am not sure how he isn’t in the concussion protocol, but Head Coach Mike Vrabel said he is good to go for practice this week.
With Miami being undefeated at home for the season and Tennessee struggling like they are, Miami should win this one by a wide margin. If I were to predict the score, I would say 38-10. I think the Miami defense has another solid game where they pressure Levis into making off timing throws. Tua will have a game like he did against Washington and once again make his case for NFL MVP.
