The Minnesota Vikings have been trying to find the right wide receivers to put around Justin Jefferson. They have brought in a number of them for training camp and many figured that some would get cut once the rosters shrunk. The Vikings made their first move today releasing former first-round wide receiver N’Keal Harry.
Minnesota Vikings Release N’Keal Harry
Harry has been a disappointment since he was drafted. Taken by the New England Patriots in the first round of the 2019 NFL Draft, Harry was never able to make his mark on the field. He has spent the past couple of years bouncing around the league and has not been able to stick on a roster. In total, Harry has less than 1,000 receiving yards since he entered the league. He now is looking for another team or waiting until injuries happen in order to sign.
Outlook In Minnesota
The Vikings are hoping that their own first-round pick, Jordan Addison, can be the solid second receiver next to Jefferson. The Vikings’ offense loves to throw it with Kirk Cousins under center and many feel like this team will be playing behind a lot in 2023. This will give plenty of opportunities for the pass-catchers to rack up big yards. The Vikings overperformed last season and now they have the challenge of defending their NFC North title. The division is weak so the crown is there for the taking.
The Minnesota Vikings releasing N’Keal Harry this early shows how much he has struggled for the team. There is still a whole preseason game to go and the team had seen enough. Will Harry find another team or is this the end of the line?
