The Miami Dolphins will be taking on the Dallas Cowboys in one of the more anticipated matchups of the entire NFL season for both teams. Both Miami and Dallas have had similar season if you really think about it. They have played really well at times, but have lost to teams they should have easily beaten and the media has said some questionable things about both teams. In this article I am going to preview the game and then at the end give a pick on who I think will win the game.
If you have watched any NFL football this year, then you have heard about the Miami offense and how explosive it can be. That was in the first half of the season, now since Jalen Ramsey has come back the Miami defense is in the top 5 in every defensive category. If you ask me, I would want my defense stepping more than my offense in the later part of the season. Even with the injuries on both sides of the ball for Miami, they are still finding ways to win games. Besides that collapse at the end of the Titans game, the defense has been playing incredibly well and they are only getting stronger as the weeks go on.
Dallas is sitting at 10-4 on the year and are still looking to take control of the NFC. With the Eagles losing 3 in a row, Dallas has a chance to sneak into the 2 seed if Philly continues this skid. A win against Miami would most certainly help them in that aspect. These teams are very evenly matched on both sides of the ball. They have playmakers all over the field that can change the game with one play. Dak will have to play against one of the toughest secondary’s in the NFL, I expect them to try and get Pollard a lot of work receiving out the backfield.
The matchups to lookout for will be Jalen Ramsey vs Ceedee Lamb and Micah Parsons vs. the entire Miami O-Line. Parsons is arguably the best pass rusher in the NFL, he has the ability to wreck a game at any moment. With Miami being down 4 starting offensive lineman, it could be a very long game if they do not account for him at all times. An interesting stat is the when Tua is sacked more than 3 times a game, Miami does not win games. Last week against the Jets he was sacked 4 times and Miami still won the game by 30. If Miami can keep Parsons at bay, then Miami should see success passing the ball.
Dolphins vs. Cowboys Pick
I’m trying really hard not to be bias towards my team, but with how Miami’s defense is playing and Tyreek most likely playing this week and Miami being at home, there is a world where Miami wins this one. It will be a very close game. It’s hard to predict a score for this game, but if I had to guess I would say 28-24 Miami. Both teams will trade blows the entire game, we will see turnovers from both teams. But, I think Miami wins the turnover battle and capitalize on their opportunities in the redzone.
