The Buffalo Bills placed a quarterback on injured reserve during Tuesday’s busy day. The Bills announced several roster moves as they completed their 53-man roster trim before the 4 p.m. deadline.
The Bills were able to declare the winner out of camp for the QB2 position to backup star quarterback Josh Allen. That job belongs to Kyle Allen after an injury this preseason.

According to Tom Pelissero with the NFL Network, the Bills are placing Matt Barkley on injured reserve.

Barkley is battling an elbow injury. Barkley has been with the Bills since the 2022 season.
The Bills will trust 27-year-old Kyle Allen to backup Josh Allen until Barkley can return. Kyle has started 19 games in his five-year NFL career. He’s thrown for over 4,700 yards and has 26 touchdown passes to 21 interceptions during that span.
The Bills backup situation for Josh Allen is concerning ahead of the 2023 regular season. The Bills have been mentioned as a likely team to trade for a quarterback this season.
