The NFL offseason has been off to a crazy start. Earlier on Sunday, it was officially reported that the New England Patriots have traded their first round quarterback Mac Jones to the Jacksonville Jaguars for a 6th round draft pick. While NFL fans were quick to call Jones a bust, Mac has taken the news in stride. A new NFL report revealed how Mac feels about the trade.
Mac Jones Is Ready To Take On A New Challenge

Mac was born and raised in Jacksonville, so although the trade must hurt, it will be good for him to go back to his hometown. He will compete for the backup roll in Jacksonville, and with Trevor Lawrence having some injury issues it is possible that we see Mac take the field at some point.
A report came out by MassLive’s Mark Daniels that Jones is looking to take on this new challenge with a positive attitude. He wrote that Jones is:
“looking forward to the next challenge.”
While Mac had a very tough past couple seasons with the Patriots, which culminated with Jones being benched this past season, he has shown at times to be a very productive starter.
Mac Jones Era With New England Patriots Is Over

The Patriots are sitting with the number 3 overall pick, and in light of this trade, it is almost certain that the team will select a quarterback with their top pick in this years draft. With first year coach Jerod Mayo, the team will be look to find their long term answer at quarterback with their 3rd overall draft pick.
As for Mac Jones, he will attempt to extend his career as a backup. Barring injury to Trevor Lawrence, Jones should not see the field with Jacksonville. Mac may be done as a starter in the league as he did not get any real interest from any teams other than the Jaguars.
ESPN’s Adam Schefter said that the only offer from Jacksonville was a 6th round pick for Jones, and per Jonathan Jones of CBS Sports, there were no other offers made for Jones.
