The Las Vegas Raiders always seem to be caught in some of the weirdest controversies. There is a new one involving defensive end Chandler Jones. Jones dropped a bombshell rant on social media saying he no longer wants to play for the franchise.

Warning! The post is full of profanity but I’ll give the clean version here. Apparently, he cannot get into the team facility gym and has to go to a local gym in order to work out. In the texts he posted with the Instagram post, he cannot get in contact with the GM in order to get this fixed. Furthermore, the team is apparently contacting an ex-girlfriend that he hasn’t been with for five years. It is an all-around weird situation and one that puts Jones’ status for week one in jeopardy. Even if his post is a knee-jerk reaction to the moment, it is hard to see how this one gets repaired in six days.

Raiders Gonna Raider
This feels like a very Raiders story. The franchise has had difficulty connecting with players in the past and it seems this is another in a long line of unhappy employees. It also brings into question what the 2023 will look like. If Jones stays off the field, the defense takes a hit. Furthermore, if other players take the side of Jones, a mass exodus could happen amongst a team that already has a bunch of trade rumors around it. This is an absolute nightmare if you are a Raiders fan.
Will Chandler Jones ever play for the Las Vegas Raiders again? From this post, it seems unlikely as the team has some serious damage control to do right now. Jones joins a long list of holdout-type storylines before week one though this one is clearly the weirdest.
