Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks coach Josh McCown deserves a ton of credit for turning Sam Darnold into a Pro Bowl-caliber quarterback this season. Minnesota finished the season with a 14-4 record and many will wonder what will happen next after being eliminated against the Los Angeles Rams in the first round of the NFL playoffs.
There is a chance that Sam Darnold is not the starting quarterback for the Vikings next season. J.J. McCarthy could be the starting quarterback next year.
New York Jets Will Be Interviewing Minnesota Vikings Quarterback’s Coach Josh McCown For Heading Coaching Vacancy On Friday
Jordan Schultz of Fox Sports on his Twitter page reported on Friday about an update on the Jets coaching vacancy:
“The #Jets will interview #Vikings QBs coach Josh McCown for their open head coach position today. This will be a virtual interview. McCown is viewed as a future head coach in the NFL.”
The New York Jets have interviewed a ton of candidates lately for the job. This is one that no one really expected even though McCown has gotten some interviews for head coaching jobs in the past.
NFL Fans React
he aint even a coordinator yet. lmao

So many front offices “view” xyz individual as a “head coach”. The Bears think 15-20 people are future HCs. Love your content man but these teams, half of them, are run by literal idiots. Nothing against McCown but this angle is repeated like 100x every January and most don’t get…

Our QB from 7 years ago coming back to save the franchise would be a movie

Everyone can assume they just using the Jets are using the HC thing to offer him as OC

At some point, Josh McCown could become an offensive coordinator somewhere. It would be a shock if he was the New York Jets head coach before becoming an offensive coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings or another team.
