The Dallas Cowboys are looking for a new head coach after letting go of Mike McCarthy as head coach earlier in the week. Dallas is looking for headlines in the media because of owner Jerry Jones.
The fanbase is sick of the headlines from Jones every single year. One potential candidate that the Cowboys could be looking at is former New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh.
Ian Rapoport Of NFL Network Reports That the Dallas Cowboys Are Expected To Interview Former New York Jets Head Coach Robert Saleh
On Wednesday, Ian Rapoport reported on his Twitter page:
“The #Cowboys have interest in and are expected to interview former #Jets coach Robert Saleh for the vacant head coach position, source said. Would be their first known request.”
Surprisingly, the former Jets head coach is getting head coaching interview requests. Many figured that he would be interviewed as just a defensive coordinator, but many across the league feel like he should get a second chance as head coach.
Robert Saleh was the head coach of the New York Jets from 2021-2024 after he was the San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator from 2017-2020. After he was fired from the Jets, he was an offensive consultant with the Green Bay Packers.

I think he deserves a second chance but after a few years back as a DC

The Dallas Cowboys are going backwards here Robert Selah ain’t it. pic.twitter.com/JiJSLZQEpJ

Now this is a decision I could see making a lot of sense. He’s a good coach and it just didn’t work out with him in NY with Rodgers there. Dallas would love him.

Prime or Saleh @dallascowboys fans? Who can turn it around faster? Or does it even matter at this point with Jerry pulling the strings?

It will be interesting to see what job Robert Saleh will take this offseason. Will he take the Dallas Cowboys job or will he be a head coach elsewhere? If he is not a head coach, there is no question that some teams could use him as a defensive coordinator for the 2025 NFL season. It would be shocking if he took the entire 2025 NFL season off.
