At the NFL Combine 2024, all major college prospects gathered in Indianapolis to measure and perform before their potential future NFL employers.
Several of these players, including the expected top prospects, did not perform. However, there was several incredible performances from those who did measure for NFL Scouts. The biggest standouts of this group of incoming college prospects will all enjoy major boosts to their draft stock as the draft is only 50 days away.
NFL Combine 2024 Rising Star #1: Xavier Worthy, Texas WR

Xavier Worthy was the undeniable star of the 2024 NFL Combine. Having run on the Saturday when some of his fellow Wide Receivers opted not to do so, Worthy lined up to run a 4.25 on his first attempt. He lined up for a second attempt to take down the former 40 yard dash record, and succeeded. Buyer Beware with 40 yard dash times aside, Worthy should warrant strong consideration to be taken as soon as the top 20 of this year’s NFL Draft.
NFL Combine 2024 Rising Star #2: Quinyon Mitchell, Toledo CB

Quinyon Mitchell ran on the Friday of NFL Combine 2024. And he very much made the most of his time. Having already blown many away with his Senior Bowl drills, Mitchell came to Indianapolis not needing to do much more to solidify his round 1 expectation. Mitchell ran a 4.33 40 yard dash, the highlight of a strong performance. Expect Mitchell to be off the board as soon as the middle of the opening round of this year’s NFL Draft.
2024 NFL Combine Rising Star #3: Adonai Mitchell, Texas WR

While not of relation to Quinyon Mitchell, Adonai Mitchell had an arguably stronger 2023 season than Mitchell. At the NFL Combine 2024, Mitchell turned in a 4.34 40 yard dash, good enough to stand with his teammate amongst the best 40 yard dash times at his position. The 2024 NFL Draft class is extensively deep at the Wide Reciever Position, and seven players at the position may fly off the board in the first night. Do not be surprised if Mitchell is among them.
2024 NFL Combine Rising Star #4: Amarius Mims, Georgia OT

Mims opted out of his team’s Orange Bowl contest against Florida State. Furthermore, it should be noted Mims had made all of eight college starts. That aside, Mims arrived at Indianapolis looking to cement his position amongst his fellow linemen at the NFL Combine 2024. By most every count, he did exactly that. Standing in at 6’8 and 340 pounds, and with athletic drills that admittedly left a bit to be desired, Mims should still lock in as one of the four first round talents at the position come April’s NFL Draft.
Conclusion
This year more than ever, the NFL Combine 2024 told the story of how the all-important first round will play out. For these four standouts, and twenty-eight others, their dreams of NFL Stardom may just be fulfilled very early on in the draft.
