The Atlanta Falcons defense has been one of the surprises this season. They invested a lot in the unit and it has been paying dividends. However, they will now have to move forward without a key piece. Defensive tackle Grady Jarrett has torn his ACL and will miss the rest of the season.

Atlanta Falcons Grady Jarrett Tears ACL
The Pro Bowl defensive tackle suffered the injury in the first defensive series against the Titans. He did not return to the game. A nine-year veteran, Jarrett has been a bridge between the Dan Quinn and Arthur Smith era. His 34 career sacks and run-stopping ability have made him essential in slowing other teams down. Now, it will be the next man up in Atlanta as they move forward without him. This is a massive loss for a team that is trying to win the NFC South crown.
How Good Are The Falcons?
This team, and really any NFC South team if we are being honest, is so hard to read. One week, they can look unstoppable on offense and stingy on defense. The next week, they are giving up four touchdown passes to Will Levis who was in his first career start. There is no denying the talent on this team but it doesn’t always translate into wins. The good news for the team is that there is plenty of season left and the rest of the NFC South does not seem to be setting up to run away with the division.
The Atlanta Falcons will have to move forward without Grady Jarrett. Hopefully, they can find a solid replacement and they can continue their playoff push.
