The New York Giants drafted wide receiver Malik Nabers with the sixth overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft out of LSU. Nabers has the potential to be a game-breaker for the Giants offense. Nabers caught six passes for 64 yards receiving and zero touchdowns in a 30-7 loss against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday afternoon.
Nabers was targeted nine times and he also averaged 10.7 yards per reception. This season, Malik Nabers has caught 67 passes for 671 yards receiving and three touchdowns, along with averaging 10.0 yards per reception. He has also been targeted 103 times.
First Take Analyst Stephen A. Smith Thinks That Malik Nabers Doesn’t Want To Be With the New York Giants
After the game, Nabers called out a lot of people after the loss against Tampa Bay and claimed that it wasn’t the quarterback’s fault. He didn’t get the ball until the second half. Malik Nabers was defending Daniel Jones and Tommy DeVito and questioning head coach Brian Daboll.
On Monday morning, First Take’s Stephen A. Smith made some comments about the star rookie wide receiver. Smith said:
“Malik Nabers told the football world, ‘Can one of y’all please get me the hell out of here? I want out.”
No way this will be happening. Nabers will be with the New York Giants for the next few seasons and there hopefully will be better days ahead for this franchise when they get a new quarterback, head coach, and general manager. Stephen A. Smith is just trying to draw attention to himself. The thing is that Nabers does not like losing.
Some former Giants players like Saquon Barkley and Xavier McKinney have been successful and winning elsewhere this season. Malik Nabers has had a very good rookie season for the Giants and has also missed a couple of games due to injury.

New York football is just in shambles (except the Bills)

Players aren’t like they once were. They are crybabies nowadays and—self entitled. You go where you get drafted—PERIOD. Be happy you’re in the NFL and—stop being disrespectful to the fans. 👌

Please tell me he does not turn into Beckham pt.2 .. there’s more to the game than Diva WRs.

I wish Stephen A would stop screaming every show. For some of us who want to hear his opinions, his screaming is an upsetting turn-off.
That’s exactly what I do every day the moment he starts. If enough peeps feel the way I do, are you still going to have a show? Just sayin’.— ReneSterbenc (@rene_sterbenc) November 25, 2024
There are a lot of NFL fans who disagree with Stephen A. Smith on this take about Malik Nabers and they have every right to disagree. The grass was not greener for Odell Beckham Jr. when he was traded to the Cleveland Browns.
For some reason as of late, the former Giants players are having major success elsewhere. However, Nabers will need to get involved early and often for the remainder of the season in a lost year for New York once again.
