Former NFL running back Adrian Peterson recently threatened legal action against TexMex Auctions for putting his awards and memorabilia up for auction. In response, the company said they would push forward with the auction of Peterson’s property, which could get ugly for both parties sooner than later.
Just recently, it was found out that a court-appointed receiver attempted to collect a judgment worth millions of dollars against Peterson due to defaulting on a loan he made in 2016. Meanwhile, the former Seattle Seahawks star’s trophies, game balls, and other memorabilia connected to his NFL career were put up for auction by the company involved in the scandal.

In response to both the court order and TexMex Auctions’ plan to bid his belongings, Peterson said that he is financially stable and that the estate sale company auctioning off his trophies was done without his authorization. He added that legal action will be taken to rectify the situation.
Former NFL Running Back Adrian Peterson’s Case Against TexMax Auctions Could Get Worse

After Peterson came out and made his claim, Dov Kleiman posted on X that TexMex would push forward with the auction of the Seahawks star’s trophies and collectibles.
“𝗨𝗽𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗲: Despite Adrian Peterson’s threats to sue, TexMax Auctions appears to be going ahead with the auction of his property. This includes his 2012 NFL MVP Award and Rookie of the Year Award, among many other collectibles. The auction closes on Thursday,” Kleiman tweeted.
The said auction is ongoing and will conclude on February 29. Along with some of Peterson’s more notable memorabilia, like his 2012 NFL MVP and Rookie of the Year Award, there will be around 1,000 items to choose from.
According to Sam Edwards, Peterson’s attorney, his client has not filed for bankruptcy and he has not authorized the auction of his memorabilia. It remains to be seen whether his belongings will be returned to the NFL star or TexMex will succeed in auctioning them off by the end of the month.
