As the NFL Draft is just three weeks away, teams around the league are putting in work to make sure they make the right selections. NFL insider Adam Schefter is now reporting that he thinks he knows who the Washington Commanders will select with the number 2 pick overall in this years draft.
Adam Schefter Reveals How He Thinks The NFL Draft Will Go
ESPN and NFL insider Schefter revealed on his latest podcast, that is almost certain that the Chicago Bears will take Caleb Williams with the number one overall pick. When it comes to the Commanders, Schefter said that he is not “supposed to spoil picks” before revealing that it’s “hard for me” to see Washington passing on Jayden Daniels.
“I think the signs continue to point to Jayden Daniels being the second overall pick,” Schefter said. “Seems like he’s popular in the scouting community. Seems like he would bring a lot of the attributes that the Commanders would like.”
Jayden Daniels is thought of as the second bets quarterback by many analysts around the NFL, but as the draft has been approaching, J.J. McCarthy has been getting a lot of love. If the Commanders take Daniels that would give the New England Patriots the chance to select Drake Maye with the No. 3 pick.
Washington Commanders Are Taking A Quarterback
Schefter, later in his podcast, also revealed that the Las Vegas Raiders have a huge interest in Daniels, but they will only pick at No. 13. They would have to make a huge trade up in the draft to get Daniels, and if the Commanders want him, than there is nothing they can do.
It seems that there is absolutely no chance that the Commanders do not take a quarterback with their first round pick. While Schefter us certain it will be Jayden Daniels, it is still a mystery. There are a few notable prospects and it would not be shocking if they take Drake Maye instead. The draft is just three weeks away.
