The New York Jets have had a quarterback carousel during the 2023 NFL season. So, whose turn is it on the carousel? Read below to find out.
Trevor Siemian Starting in Week 17
According to Ari Meirov, New York Jets head coach Robert Saleh has announced that the Jets will go with Trevor Siemian in Week 17. That means that Zach Wilson will remain on the sidelines. The Jets claim that he is still dealing with a concussion.
Siemian has started one game this season and appeared in three. How has he done in those appearances? Siemian has 393 passing yards, a touchdown pass, and three interceptions. Now, he will have perhaps his most difficult assignment of the season against the Cleveland Browns defense.
New York Jets Moving Forward
Truthfully, the Jets are waiting for their real quarterback to return in 2024. Despite rumors that Aaron Rodgers may make an appearance before the end of the 2023 NFL season, that got taken off of the table with a Week 15 loss to the Miami Dolphins. However, Rodgers plans to be the Jets’ quarterback for at least two more seasons.
As a result, it appears that the Jets will move off of Zach Wilson. We may have seen him take his last snap as a member of the New York Jets. He was drafted by the Jets with the second overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. However, he has not lived up to those expectations since then.
