NFL Teams Are Trying to Trade For New York Jets Playmaker

The New York Jets, after acquiring Davante Adams in a blockbuster trade with the Las Vegas Raiders, are reportedly garnering interest in one of the team’s young offensive playmakers as the NFL trade deadline nears.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, several teams have checked in with the Jets about acquiring star wide receiver Garrett Wilson, but New York has no plans to actually trade him.

It isn’t surprising to see Wilson drawing trade interest, given the myriad injuries to wide receivers across the league combined with Wilson’s upside at just 24-years-old with first-round pedigree.

Likewise, the Jets have little motivation to move on from Wilson, especially after committing a conditional fourth-round draft pick that can become a second-round pick if New York reaches the AFC Championship Game this season, in exchange for Adams.

Clearly, the Jets aren’t looking to rebuild, and Wilson is the caliber of talent at a premium position that teams such as the Jets would like to build an offense around.

Meanwhile,NFL Network’s Mike Garafolo reported that the Jets are “trying to find a suitor” for [Mike] Williams, who was serving as the team’s WR3 prior to the Adams trade.

Trading Williams, who doesn’t seem to be on the same page with Rodgers in recent weeks, would make a lot more sense because he’s a veteran receiver with a higher price tag but could fetch some draft capital to recoup some of what was lost in the Adams deal with the Raiders.
