The New York Jets are amid a disastrous 2023 campaign, sitting near the bottom of the AFC East and losers of five straight games. Their offense has struggled mightily, scoring 14.3 points per game, the third-worst average in the NFL. Losing their star quarterback and four-time MVP Aaron Rodgers in the first quarter of the season’s first game derailed the Jets from the start, leaving former first-round pick and backup Zach Wilson to clean up the pieces. However, the results were mediocre, leading to New York opting to use journeyman Tim Boyle.
The Jets, alongside head coach Robert Saleh, sent Wilson to the emergency backup role in late November, effectively ending Wilson’s tenure in New York. However, a recent report by NFL insider Dianna Russini suggests the Jets could go back to Wilson with Boyle struggling, but the former could need convincing.
The Jets want to make a switch at QB. The team is leaning towards Zach Wilson to take over, but he is reluctant to stepping back in, sources tell @zackBlatt and me. The team is discussing next steps. More on @theathletic shortly.

New York Jets: Quarterback Options for Week 14
The New York Jets have a trio of quarterbacks they could use on Sunday. If Zach Wilson decides he is up for the task, he will make his tenth season start. The former second-overall pick in the 2021 NFL draft, Wilson has thrown for six touchdowns against seven picks this season. He has completed 58% of his passes. Meanwhile, last week’s starter, Tim Boyle, could make another start. However, he has struggled since taking over in Week 12. Boyle has tossed four picks to just one touchdown. Former Denver Broncos signal-caller Trevor Siemian is also on the roster. He has thrown 42 touchdowns against 28 picks in his NFL career.
