East Rutherford, NJ -- August 24, 2024 -- Aaron Rodgers on the sidelines in the first half. The New York Giants and New York Jets meet at MetLife Stadium in the final preseason game of the 2024 season for both teams.

The New York Jets will look to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2010 season. The Jets lost to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the AFC Championship that season. New York fans are craving for their team to make it to the playoffs again.

The AFC East won’t be an easy division for the New York Jets to win. The Miami Dolphins and the Buffalo Bills are considered the two best teams in the division. For this season, the New England Patriots should be the fourth-place team in the AFC East.

Bleacher Report Writer Alex Kay Thinks That the New York Jets Should Trade For Wide Receiver Davante Adams

Bleacher Report writer Alex Kay wrote a trade proposal for each NFL team before the start of the 2024 season. He thinks that the New York Jets should send a 2025 second-round pick and a 2025 third-round pick to the Las Vegas Raiders for wide receiver Davante Adams.

This trade would make sense for both teams. The Raiders are rebuilding and they would get some quality draft capital back from the New York Jets. Davante Adams would be reunited with Aaron Rodgers, as the Jets try to win a Super Bowl this season. Anthony Kay said:

“The New York Jets know they can’t afford to squander what is left of Aaron Rodgers’ career and their limited Super Bowl window. After losing the quarterback just a few snaps into the opener last year, it’s more important than ever to go all-in and make the most out of his availability.

Reuniting Rodgers with Davante Adams, his No. 1 target for much of his tenure with the Green Bay Packers, would push the Jets over the edge and make their offense borderline unstoppable.

In 108 games with Rodgers on the field, Adams went off for an incredible 622 catches, 7,590 yards and 69 touchdowns. While the wideout regressed slightly last year during his second season with the Las Vegas Raiders, he proved he could still be a huge asset at the age of 31 by reeling in 103 balls for 1,144 yards and eight scores.

Although the Jets would likely have to give up some serious assets to land Adams, the picks they would be giving up would be more than worth it if it results in the team’s first Lombardi Trophy in more than five decades.”

A lot of people think that this is just a fantasy with Davante Adams reuniting with Aaron Rodgers on the New York Jets. A season ago, a couple of former Green Bay Packers players followed him to New York. Randall Cobb and Allen Lazard both played for the Jets last season. Cobb retired from the NFL.

Florham Park, NJ — July 27, 2024 — Wide receiver, Garrett Wilson and head coach Robert Saleh during the New York Jets training camp this morning.

Garrett Wilson is the top wide receiver on the Jets this season. Mike Williams and Xavier Gipson are the other starters for the Jets at wide receiver. Williams has had an injury history with the Los Angeles Chargers.

If Davante Adams was traded to the New York Jets, he would be the number one and Garrett Wilson would be the number two. Both wide receivers went over 1,000 yards a season ago. The Las Vegas Raiders will most likely be sellers at the NFL trade deadline this season. Adams will be a name on the trade market for wide receiver-needy teams.
