The New York Jets have had a disappointing 2024 campaign after having high hopes of making the postseason this year. The team is currently 4-10 and already looking forward to next season despite having one of the more talented rosters in the league on paper. However, quarterback Aaron Rodgers has been rumored to be leaning toward retirement after this season, and he just released a statement on the matter.

Rodgers made a statement on Wednesday that he will take some time after the season is over to decide if he wants to keep playing. Rodgers has not looked like his usual self in 2024 despite coming in with confidence that he can still be a top quarterback in the league, and many have started to wonder if he can continue.

Rodgers has put up 3,255 passing yards and 23 touchdowns this season, which is low for his usual standard. In his career, he has 62,310 passing yards and 498 touchdowns, mainly coming from his time with the Green Bay Packers.

New York has struggled to get to the playoffs more than any team in recent history, and this year will make it 14 consecutive seasons without making a postseason appearance. With loads of young talent and a veteran presence, many fans thought the Jets would be a competitor this year to make a run in the playoffs. Now, with Rodgers debating retirement, the team could be looking at another rebuild.
