The New York Jets 2023 season has not gone as planned. However, there is a silver lining. Aaron Rodgers has made it clear he plans to play in 2024 meaning the fans will get at least one more season of the MVP quarterback. According to a recent report, the team is going to attempt to reunite Rodgers with his old teammate Davante Adams.
New York Jets An Aaron Rodgers & Davante Adams Reunion?
“That will happen,” one source predicted to ESPN. “I think so.” This isn’t necessarily a surprise. Rodgers often loves to play with people that he knows as evidenced by the Allen Lazard and Randall Cobb signings this offseason. Adams is still one of the top receivers in the game and pairing him with Garrett Wilson would give the Jets one of the best receiver tandems in the league. Reports already indicated that the Jets tried to get Adams at the trade deadline so it isn’t surprising that they would make another run.
Depends On How 2023 Ends For The Raiders
Shockingly, the Las Vegas Raiders are 5-5 with a real shot at the playoffs. If Antonio Pierce can lead the team to success and a playoff berth, Adams might elect to stay in Vegas where he loves living. If not, a reunion with Rodgers might be more attractive. It is unclear what it would take to pry Adams away from the Raiders but it would likely involve a first-round pick.
The Jets are clearly attempting to go all in. They likely have one more year with Rodgers and then they have to figure out the quarterback position yet again. Can they land Adams or is this simply a pipe dream?
