The New York Giants had one of the worst, if not the worst, offensive lines in the league. They allowed 52 hurries (6th-most), 41 hits (24th), 178 pressures (3rd), a 26.4% pressure percentage (4th), and 85 sacks (1st).

With roughly $32 million in cap space, New York must address the offensive line position. They address the position today by releasing one of their guards.

New York released Mark Glowinski, freeing up $5.7 million in cap space.

New York signed Mark Glowinski to a 3-year, $18 million contract, hoping to solve their offensive line woes at the guard position.

Glowinski appeared in 16 games and started 16 in 2022. He had three penalties, five sacks allowed, and a 63.3 PFF Grade. He also had zero penalties, zero sacks allowed, and a 75.7 PFF Grade in two playoff games.

    Overall, New York’s offensive line struggled in 2022, allowing 51 hurries (5th-most), 61 hits (9th), 161 pressures (6th), a 25.6% pressure percentage (4th), and 49 sacks (6th).

Glowinski fell out of the rotation in 2023 after initially winning the starting job. He was benched in Week 1 and spent most of the season as a backup but started in five other games because of injuries. He had four penalties, six sacks allowed, and a 64.8 PFF Grade in 13 games.

Overall, New York’s offensive line in 2023 was worse than 2022’s.

How will New York address the offensive live?

Andrew Thomas and John Michael Schmitz are the only linemen whose starting positions are safe for next year. However, the team needs an LG, RG, and RT.

It is unclear what New York will do with Evan Neal as some suggest that he switches to guard, but he stated during the season that he was born a tackle.

New York will likely address the offensive line position in free agency or through the draft.
