The New York Giants had a good showing at the Washington Huskies Pro Day on Thursday with head coach Brian Daboll and general manager Joe Schoen attending. One of the other people who attended this event was Seattle Seahawks general manager Jon Schneider.
A couple of the names that they were eyeing are quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and wide receiver Rome Odunze. The Giants need wide receiver help and also quarterback help. The Seahawks are not far from the Washington Huskies facility and this is probably why they were due to diligence also.
The Giants will own the sixth selection in the 2024 NFL Draft. It will be interesting to see whether or not they will draft a wide receiver or a quarterback with that selection. New York doesn’t appear to be heading toward drafting an offensive lineman during the 2024 NFL Draft at least for the first round.
The New York Giants Going To the Washington Huskies Pro Day To See What Michael Penix Jr. and Rome Odunze are Potentially Made Of
It doesn’t feel as if the Giants are going to lean towards drafting Odunze or Penix Jr. in the 2024 NFL Draft, but you never know. It feels as if for now it is going to be either J.J. McCarthy, Drake Maye, Marvin Harrison Jr., or Malik Nabers. New York needs to get this selection right.
It feels as if taking a wide receiver with the sixth selection is going to be a safer pick rather than a quarterback. Odunze is projected to be the third wide receiver off the board. As for Penix Jr., who knows where he will be drafted?
The Washington Huskies went to the National Championship Game last season in college football before losing to the Michigan Wolverines after beating the Texas Longhorns in the semifinals. Washington is going to have a couple of other players being selected in the 2024 NFL Draft.
