As we all know the New York Giants season did not go the way we wanted it to and that was starting from Week 1 against the Cowboys. The Giants started the season home against the Cowboys on Sunday night in MetLife Stadium and we all thought it was going to be a good competitive game and well we were all wrong. If everything could have went wrong for the Giants it did. Daniel Jones and the Giants offense had a decent drive down the field and put us in field goal range and giving us a chance for a early lead which failed and that ended up being blocked by Noah Igbinoghene taking it back for a touchdown. There were many issues throughout the game that the Giants could just not fix.
Some stats for this game:
Dallas Cowboys:
- QB- Dak Prescott 13-24 143 passing yards
- RB- Tony Pollard 14 Carries 70 yards and 2 TD’s
- WR- Ceedee Lamb 4 receptions for 77 yards
New York Giants:
- QB- Daniel Jones 15-28 104 passing yards
- RB- Saquon Barkley 12 carries 51 yards
- WR- Darren Waller- 3 receptions 36 yard
The stats from the Cowboys goes to show that they came ready and prepared to play and the Giants were just not ready to compete and it showed all game long. That is why the final outcome of the game was 40-0 Cowboys winning heavily and not looking back.
This video down below shows how the First quarter went and for the rest of the game it was like this.
The New York Giants seasons as whole:
The New York Giants finished 6-11 and third in the NFC East behind the Cowboys and Eagles. They were faced with a a lot of issues and adversity this year resulting in the final record being 6-11. One thing is that Daniel Jones tore his ACL Week 9 against the Las Vegas Raiders, but even before he went down with the injury they were still underperforming and struggling as a offensive team to put points on the board. The Giants were averaging 15.6 point per game in the 2023-2024 year which was a big difference from 2022 to as they were averaging 21.5 points per game. The Giants definitely need to make some adjustments this upcoming season with the offensive line/ offensive weapons.
Moving Forward:
Moving Forward with the New York Giants they currently hold the 6th overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft coming up in April. There has been a lot of buzz around the Quarterback class this year many big names including Caleb Williams, Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels, Box Nix and Michael Penix Jr. The Giants are in a position where 3 of those Quarterbacks could be gone in the top 5 and if they want someone like Daniels, Maye or Williams they might need to move up to at least 3 to secure their QB if that is what they decide to go with, but if the Giants do not go QB in the first round they could turn their attention to a Wide Receiver or Offensive Tackle.
Top Wide Receiver Options for the Giants:
Top Offensive Tackles available if Giants:
T Joe Alt
These are the top 3 names from the wide receiver and offensive tackle position that are at the top of the NFL Draft Boards and some projected names that the Giants could target if they miss out on their guy. I wouldn’t be mad if the Giants got any of these names that I provided down below.
Stay tuned for the latest updates on my articles I will eventually be doing NFL when Draft season comes around and also the combine.
