Despite turnovers and defensive struggles, the New Orleans Saints defeat the Seattle Seahawks 39-32 in New Orleans.
The win improved the Saints’ record to 2-3, ending a three-game losing streak. Seattle dropped to 2-3.
The Saints gave up 396 total yards, 245 of those came through the air courtesy of Geno Smith. The Saints were able to outgain the Seahawks with 438 yards offense.
New Orleans Saints starting quarterback Andy Dalton, went 16-24, with one touchdown and one interception. Continuing to keep the Saints offense moving forward and the defense resting on the bench.
Saints running back Alvin Kamara, carried the ball 23 times for 103 yards and had six catches for 91 yards.
Swiss army knife player Taysom Hill had 9 carries for 112 yards and three touchdowns.
Saints defensive end Cameron Jordan sacked Smith 1.5 times and helped hold Seattle to one of nine on third down.
Is Dalton New Orleans Saints New Starter
Andy Dalton has not dazzled New Orleans Saints fans with amazing quarterback play. Presently Dalton continues to do what he has done entire career, throw short passes and keep the offense moving forward.
- Meanwhile Dalton has taken over for the injured Winston, New Orleans Saints fans have seen fewer turnovers from the quarterback position.
- Part of Dalton’s success today was the return of running back Alvin Kamara. Kamara gives Dalton another target and when he is running healthy, can help keep defenses at bay.
- Dalton’s lack of turnovers and steady drives will pose questions in the Saints quarterback room.
If Dalton starts in week six and the New Orleans Saints earn another victory, coach Dennis Allen and his staff will have to look at keeping Dalton as the starter. The New Orleans Saints nation wants a winner under center and if the Saints can earn back-to-back victories after a rocky start to the 2022 season, Dalton may earn the job.
Who Will Start in Week Six Against the Bengals
Overall Dalton proves that he provides stability as the quarterback. The lack of big plays are countered by quality drives that more times than not, result in points.
The long drives eating up a lot of time, keeps the Saints defense off the field.
The Saints had the ball for more than 37 and half minutes in the victory over the Seahawks.
The Saints were able to rack up 16 first downs and punted just four times.
This type of stability in long drives and ball control seem to be the answer the Saints need to get back on track early the season.
