The New Orleans Saints are looking to add some firepower at wide receiver, and hosting free agent Marquez Valdes-Scantling for a workout.
Valdes-Scantling, 30, could fill a dire need in the Saints’ offense with top wideout Chris Olave sidelined after suffering a concussion during last Thursday night’s blowout loss to the Denver Broncos.
The Bills released Valdes-Scantling, who won a pair of Super Bowl rings during his time with the Kansas City Chiefs, after acquiring playmaking wide receiver Amari Cooper in a blockbuster trade with the Cleveland Browns last week.
What Marquez Valdes-Scantling Could Bring New Orleans Saints

Even before Cooper’s arrival, Valdes-Scantling struggled to see the field in Buffalo while buried on the depth chart behind the likes of Khalil Shakir, rookie Keon Coleman, Mack Hollins.
However, Valdes-Scantling was a key component during the Chiefs’ run to the Super Bowl last season and is an accomplished veteran receiver who could provide a spark to a Saints offense that is dealing with having both Olave and starting quarterback Derek Carr out.
Through his first seven NFL seasons, Valdes-Scantling has caught 188 passes for 3,181 yards with 16 career touchdowns, but, hasn’t surpassed 500 receiving yards since the 2022 campaign.
The Saints travel to Los Angeles to take on the Chargers, in Week 8.
