New England Patriots head coach, Bill Belichick, despite being known for his coaching prowess, is actually just a master storyteller. After teasing his audience by cutting Will Grier earlier today, he waited a few hours. Then, whilst everyone is probably out partying on a Saturday night (except me), or trying to a get an early night’s sleep in – he delicately drops the news that we have all been waiting on tenterhooks for the entire bye week.
At long last, now down to only two, highly mediocre quarterbacks, we can finally reveal that the starting QB for the New England Patriots for Week 12 is (per Andrew Callahan)…
The #Patriots are planning to start QB Mac Jones against the Giants, per source.
Jones split starting reps with Bailey Zappe in practice this week and out-performed him. More here:https://t.co/d93HIqm1Pc pic.twitter.com/PikiFEF7vn

Mac Jones!!
What Does This Mean For The New England Patriots’ Offence?
Well, probably less than you would imagine.
If anyone reading actually decided to put themselves through the legitimate pain of watching the Indianapolis Colts edge the New England Patriots, then really, you deserve a medal. For those who attained that medal, both quarterbacks were dreadful. From Mac Jones’ awful late-game interception to Bailey Zappe’s very strange fake spike – pick, it really seemed as if the majority, if not all other NFL backups could start for the Patriots at this point.
Suffice to say it is not looking good in Foxborough on the quarterback front at the moment.
This week, they go up against a New York Giants team that may actually have the only starting quarterback worse than Mac Jones, former Syracuse QB and Italian-American rookie from New Jersey, Tommy DeVito. Although, he actually played surprisingly well in the win against the Washington Commanders in Week 11, so maybe Jones is actually the worst in the NFL.
Regardless, this will be a brutal game to watch, so please do not actually have this on your main (or only) screen beyond NFL Redzone, but a loss here could even catapult preseason star Malik Cunningham – or at this point, even Colin Kapernick, into the Patriots starting lineup – so that could be fun.
