Malik Cunningham
Cunningham is in his first year in the NFL and it was looking like he might get a chance to get some playing time with current starter Mac Jones having struggles this season. He has played in one game this season against the Las Vegas Raiders for just a couple of plays and has not amounted to any stats just yet.
This move has NFL fans saying that the Patriots should have given him a chance instead of rolling with Jones for the rest of the season. Jones did have a decent game in the win this past week against the Buffalo Bills but has been inconsistent this year. As you can see from these reactions, fans think that Cunningham should get a shot to play.
man they need to give him a chance they’re doin him dirty

Didn’t they just sign Malik Cunningham to a 3 year contract? I’m so confused #Patriots #ForeverNE pic.twitter.com/ZHLuWGcvza

New England Patriots Quarterback Troubles
Mac Jones has had a rough 2023 as the starting quarterback. He has gone for 1,480 passing yards and seven touchdowns along with seven interceptions. New England has gotten off to an ugly 2-5 start to this season and does not look like they will get anywhere near a winning record. Fans and analysts alike are blaming Jones’ poor quarterback play for the team’s offensive struggles.
After Cunningham signed the three-year contract, everyone thought that he would eventually become the starter for the team. However, in a stunning move by the organization, they waived him just two weeks later. Cunningham was the starting quarterback for Louisville in college and amounted to 9,660 passing yards and 70 touchdowns in his career.
This move is shocking to everyone in the NFL world, and it will be interesting to see where Cunningham plays next. Will there be another team that is willing to give him a shot, or will he remain a free agent for the remainder of the season?
