Fans of the Nebraska Cornhuskers, it has been a whirlwind of emotions as inaugural off season champs!
With the most recent development of the Nebraska Cornhuskers not being able to bring in the single greatest complete quarterback room overhaul in history, there is a different dream scenario that is starting to line up. Part rumors, part confirmed, part speculation, this weekend is shaping up to be the foundation of a potential landslide of offensive talent playing for the Nebraska Cornhuskers in 2024.
Nebraska Cornhuskers Two Confirmed Visits
If fans have learned anything this weekend, it is that nothing is set in stone until it actually happens. However, there are no calming of expectations as the Nebraska program is anticipated to host elite QB talent Dylan Raiola.
One of the easy to overlook aspects of bringing in a highly sought after talent, is their ability to draw interest from other great players as well. If fans are excited of a 5 star prospect joining a program, image that feeling being tenfold as an athlete! Players enjoy being around others that make their job easier on the field.
This is why news of wide receiver JUCO transfer Demond Demas is not only exciting, but it also makes sense. Demas originally played at Texas A&M, and was a top 5 national recruit at his position. Having played most recently at Garden City Community College in Kansas, he could end up being another success story of someone that benefitted from taking a junior college route, before reentering the national stage.
For anyone wondering if he is actually likely to join the Nebraska Cornhuskers, he was already provided some clarity on social media. On his X account, his bio states that he is a “Ball Catcher @huskerfootball, despite no official announcement from the program.

Including an emoji posting of a corn, Demas commented on a post of Raiola’s upcoming weekend visit saying:
See u this week twinnnn
If nothing else it definitely appears that there is an interest of Demas catching passes from wherever Raiola ends up throwing the football next season.
Nebraska Cornhuskers Recruit To Potentially Look For
One rumor that has potential legs to stand on, involves Texas commit Brandon Baker. The offensive line prospect liked a fan comment from the same post mentioned earlier. the comment tagged the offensive lineman and just added the eye emoji. He is rumored to be visiting Lincoln this weekend.

Baker is also a 5 star recruit that the Nebraska Cornhuskers staff made a push to make an impression early on during the recruitment process.
Nebraska Cornhuskers Recruiting Bottomline
Players are mostly looking for a couple of things when deciding where they will want to play football. Main things include; playing time, a coach that they feel that they can trust, and a winning season.
This Nebraska Cornhuskers staff has been in contention and in conversations with high level recruits because of Matt Rhule and how he approaches players. Probably the biggest obstacle to this point has been the well documented inability to win close games, ending in losing seasons.
Depending on how visits go this weekend, Coach Rhule will need to convince the recruits, confirmed and otherwise, that Nebraska is on the right track. One avenue he can sell them on, that other programs can’t, is that they can be a noteworthy part of the resurgence of the Nebraska Cornhuskers as a national program again.
