Former Minnesota Vikings star and free agent running back Dalvin Cook has been dealing with a lawsuit against him from his ex-girlfriend accusing him of battery and false imprisonment. It has now been reported that this lawsuit has been settled after a hearing for the case was canceled with the matter settled. It looks like Cook is not done with the matter, however, as he is now going after the law firm that was representing his ex-girlfriend.
Minnesota Vikings Star Lawsuit Settlement
The lawsuit was made on November 9, 2021, and alleged that the star running back assaulted his ex-girlfriend Gracelyn Trimble in his home back in November 2020 while he was still a member of the Vikings. Cook’s attorney claimed that his client was assaulted by Trimble, who later attempted to threaten the star NFL running back.

Trimble was seeking unspecified damages in excess of $50,000 after Cook’s lawyers offered her $800,000 and the $1 million to send a letter to the National Football League relieving him of any wrongdoing. Now, the running back is suing the law firm Eckland and Blando, who represented Trimble , for defamation.
Dalvin Cook Career
Cook, who is now 28 years old, is coming off of the worst season of his career in his time with the New York Jets. He only amounted to 214 yards on the ground on 67 carries in 15 games before being released by the team. He was then claimed by the Baltimore Ravens during the 2023-2024 postseason, where he rushed for 23 yards on eight carries in the Divisional Round victory against the Houston Texans.
Cook Looking To Move Forward
Even though Cook is coming off of the worst season of his career, he seems to be determined to turn things around immediately on the field.
I’ve got it all. I didn’t really get no reps last year. So, the legs are fresh, so the resume speaks for itself. I’m still Dalvin Cook. I’m still that guy. For me, I don’t like to toot my own horn. I just like to go out there, put my helmet on and line up on the grass.
Do you think the lawsuit against the star running back had an affect on his performance on the field, and will he be able to turn things around right away?
