The Minnesota Vikings have made a change at the quarterback position. Starting QB Joshua Dobbs has been benched in favor of QB Nick Mullens in the middle of the fourth quarter against the Las Vegas Raiders. It is apparently a coach’s decision.
Joshua Dobbs’ Benching
When he was originally traded to the Minnesota Vikings, Dobbs provided a spark for the team. He won his first two games with the Vikings. However, Minnesota is on a two-game losing streak and their game was a scoreless tie when Dobbs was benched against the Raiders.
Dobbs had a mere 63 passing yards and a 43.5 completion percentage against the Raiders. In last week’s loss against the Chicago Bears, he threw four interceptions. Now, head coach Kevin O’Connell hopes to create a spark with yet another quarterback change for the Vikings.
Nick Mullens Enters for the Minnesota Vikings
Mullens entered the game in favor of Dobbs. So, what are the Vikings getting with Mullens?
This is his 25th appearance in his NFL career. Mullens has been in the league since 2018, having spent time with the San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns before the Vikings. Mullens has 5,085 passing yards, 27 touchdown passes, and 23 interceptions in his career. Now, he hopes to secure this critical game for Minnesota.
