As previously discussed on Gridiron Heroics, the Minnesota Vikings have made it a mission to fix their interior offensive line, signing two high-quality starters last week. Minnesota signed center Ryan Kelly to a two-year, $18 million contract last Monday and right guard Will Fries to a five-year, $88 million contract on Tuesday. Since they added a top center, the Vikings decided to move on from their old starter.

According to Tom Pelissero and Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, the Vikings have released center Garrett Bradbury with a post-June 1st release. As a result, on June 2nd, the front office frees up $5.25 million in cap space and incurs a $814,000 dead cap hit in 2025 and $1.628 million in 2026.

The former 1st round pick had a rough 2024 season

Garrett Bradbury had a rough 2024 campaign, struggling in pass protection, but played well in the run game. Bradbury surrendered 38 pressures, 28 hurries, six QB hits, and four sacks, posting a 50.5 pass-blocking, a 70.5 run-blocking, and a 62.8 overall PFF grade in 18 starts. He allowed the most pressures and hurries, the second-most QB hits, and the fifth-most sacks and ranked 25th in pass-blocking, 9th in run-blocking, and 19th in overall grade among 28 qualified centers who played at least 50% of snaps (h/t) PFF.
