The Michigan Wolverines football program has been in the news a lot lately. After Jim Harbaugh left for the NFL, Sherrone Moore took over. He made some big splash hires on the coaching staff and only lost a handful of players to the transfer portal. While there are many questions the Wolverines have to answer before the season starts, the program is in good shape moving forward. However, they lost a young wide receiver, Eamonn Dennis, to the transfer portal on Monday.

Dennis was a special teams player for the Wolverines. He appeared in 14 games this past season on punt coverage and made one tackle. Dennis was a three-star recruit in the 2020 cycle but could never climb the depth chart for the Wolverines. One of the issues was the position he played. Michigan has been a run-heavy team since 2020 and does not need massive numbers of wide receivers. Dennis will now look to make an impact with another program.
Minor Losses

These are the types of losses that the Michigan Wolverines can handle. While it always stinks to lose a player, sometimes certain players don’t click with certain programs. Dennis has not gotten the opportunity with the Wolverines and, hopefully, will get one elsewhere. The spring transfer portal will be one to watch for Michigan. Now that players have had a chance to interact with the new coaching staff, it will be interesting to see if anyone jumps ship.
Michigan is one of the most interesting teams to watch in 2024. While they aren’t the favorite anymore, they also shouldn’t be awful. Could they pull off an upset or two next season?
