The Michigan Wolverines have been plagued by off-the-field issues this offseason. It hasn’t been the players but the people on staff. Defensive line coach Greg Scruggs was arrested for an OWI and promptly resigned from his position. Now, another staffer is in a similar situation. Former star quarterback and current assistant director of player personnel Denard Robinson was arrested on Monday for an OWI.

It was early Monday morning when Robinson was involved in a single-car crash. He was promptly arrested for operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated. The official charges are pending toxicology reports. The incident happened close to the headquarters of Michigan Football. Head coach Sherrone Moore announced that he has been suspended indefinitely. “We will continue to monitor the situation and will have no further comment at this time,” Moore said in the statement.
What Is Going On At Michigan?
These types of incidents are popping up among Michigan staff. It is unclear if Robinson will suffer the same fate that Scruggs did. Jim Harbaugh hired Robinson, and while Moore was on staff, he might have decided the off-the-field issues were not worth having on staff. There will likely be some team meetings to help get the point across about not driving while intoxicated.
The Michigan Wolverines have a talented team but need to get the off-the-field issues solved. It will be interesting to see what happens with this situation after more information comes out.
