A video surfaced of Michigan players responding with raw emotion to the news they’d play Alabama in the College Football Playoff semifinal. The video will negate any confident PR the Wolverines might have tried to put out about “We Want Bama” in the next month.
The Wolverines were given the number one overall seed by the playoff Committee Sunday morning. They will play in the Rose Bowl against the Crimson Tide, as the playoff committee made the controversial decision to force through an SEC team over an undefeated Power 5 team, Florida State.
While many college football fans were upset with Florida State’s snub and thought the committee rigged the Crimson Tide into the playoffs for money and ratings, Wolverines players seemed upset with the decision for another reason.
Michigan players appear scared of their semifinal opponent
Clayton Sayfie with Wolverine.com posted a video reaction of Wolverines’ players when they found out live that they would face the Crimson Tide in the playoffs. Players could be heard grunting when Rece Davis of ESPN announced the Crimson Tide were ranked number four.

It appears the Wolverines are afraid of playing the Crimson Tide next month. That video didn’t look for head coach Jim Harbaugh’s program. Harbaugh lost his previous bowl matchup against head coach Nick Saban when the Crimson Tide routed the Wolverines 35-16 in the 2020 Citrus Bowl.
Speaking of Harbaugh, many fans have thought the Crimson Tide getting into the playoffs was due to the committee wanting higher ratings than what a deserving but underperforming Florida State offense would have brought in.
Is there even a slight possibility the committee wanted to make it harder for the Wolverines to win the title after their sign-stealing controversy this year?

So Michigan, who just defeated Alabama, was afraid to play them? The headline was idiotic, as was the interpretation of their reaction to the announcement. But then again, I suppose you realize how stupid your assessment was now.
