Wide Receiver Michael Jefferson was involved in a car accident that left a man dead Sunday night in Mobile, Alabama. Jefferson’s agent Jon Perzley broke the news after the accident.
According to Alabama Law Enforcement, Jefferson’s vehicle collided with a Dodge Charger. The Dodge Charger hit a 2008 Nissan Maxima and collided with the Dodge Charger.
A 55-year-old man was driving the Dodge Charger. The man wasn’t wearing a seatbelt and was pronounced dead by officials.
Perzley said Jefferson needed multiple surgeries because of the car collision.
Jefferson was projected to be selected in the middle of the NFL Draft.
Jefferson spent his senior year at Louisiana Lafayette. Jefferson caught 51 passes, recorded 810 receiving yards and scored seven touchdowns.
In six seasons, Jefferson caught 154 passes, recorded 2,407 receiving yards and scored 29 touchdowns.
