The Miami Dolphins‘ season is on the brink and Tua Tagovailoa’s football future is in doubt as the star quarterback continues to recover from a third documented concussion.
While there are myriad potential trade targets general manager Chris Grier and the Dolphins could pursue, be it Detroit Lions backup quarterback Hendon Hooker, or former Carolina Panthers No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young, or even veteran free agents like C.J. Beathard on the open market, it doesn’t sound like a blockbuster is looming.
According to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, the Dolphins trading for a quarterback “doesn’t seem likely at this point.”
Adding to the Dolphins’ woes at quarterback, Skylar Thompson was knocked from Sunday’s contest due to a chest injury, which could thrust former Baltimore Ravens practice squad quarterback Tyler Huntley into the starting lineup.
Time will tell if Grier and the Dolphins stick to those convictions, especially if the offense continues to sputter as it did Sunday afternoon in a 24-3 shellacking to the Seattle Seahawks.
