As the offseason continues, the Miami Dolphins are still looking for another wide receiver to play opposite stars Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. On Friday, Hill posted on one of his social media accounts that free agent Odell Beckham Jr. was headed to Miami, subsequently filling the third wide receiver spot on the team. However, Beckham quickly debunked the rumors on his Twitter (also known as X) page, ending the speculation.
Beckham Jr. is not the first free-agent wideout linked to the Dolphins. Multiple sources say the AFC East club remains a front-runner to land the services of former Cincinnati Bengals pass catcher Tyler Boyd. Miami has also re-signed wide receiver Braxton Berrios this offseason. Berrios is a former All-Pro punt returner.
Free Agent WR Odell Beckham Jr.: Debunks Reports of Him Heading to Miami
According to Odell Beckham Jr., the free-agent wide receiver has not come to terms with the Miami Dolphins. On Friday, the NFL world considered it a deal after Miami megastar Tyreek Hill called it official through his Snapchat account. Beckham Jr. posted on his social media account hours later, saying, “Lol, I’m Confused today. Did I sign somewhere? Errbody keep hitting me.”

Beckham Jr. played for the Baltimore Ravens last season, catching 35 passes for 568 yards and three scores. It was his least productive NFL season since an injury-shortened 2020 campaign, in which he registered only 319 receiving yards in seven games. The 12th overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft, Beckham Jr. started his professional career with the New York Giants. He shined during his first season, winning AP Offensive Rookie of the Year, totaling 1,305 receiving yards and 12 scores. The LSU product made the All-Pro second-team the following two seasons, collecting 2,817 yards and 23 touchdowns during that span.
Beckham Jr. landed with the Cleveland Browns in 2019. However, after two and a half seasons of low production, the AFC North club cut ties with the wideout. After his release, he signed with the Los Angeles Rams, winning the Super Bowl that same season. Beckham Jr. suffered a torn ACL in the win, missing the entirety of the 2022 season.
Miami Dolphins: Eyeing Third Wide Receiver
The Miami Dolphins are expected to add another wide receiver through free agency or the draft. Miami received massive production from superstar wideout Tyreek Hill last season. The speedster posted an NFL-best 1,799 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns. Meanwhile, fellow receiver Jaylen Waddle collected 72 receptions for 1,014 yards and four scores. However, no other receiver eclipsed 300 yards.
Former Dallas Cowboys pass catcher Cedric Wilson Jr. had 296 yards receiving on 22 catches. Meanwhile, Braxton Berrios registered 27 catches for 238 yards and a touchdown. Robbie Chosen, River Cracraft, and Chase Claypool were the only other wide receivers to record a reception.
