After a strong showing in college, Malik Washington is now ready to take his career to the next level as the Miami Dolphins’ rookie for next season. But even before he plays his first game as a pro, the wide receiver has already trended due to an insanely awesome tattoo he just got.

Washington, a wide receiver from Lawrenceville, Georgia, played college football at Northwestern University from 2019 to 2022. During his time at Northwestern, Washington steadily improved each season, culminating in a breakout 2022 campaign where he recorded 65 receptions for 694 yards and a touchdown. For his performance, he was named third-team All-Big Ten by Pro Football Focus.

After the 2022 season, Washington entered the NCAA transfer portal and decided to continue his collegiate career at the University of Virginia. At Virginia, Washington immediately made an impact, recording 110 receptions for 1,426 yards and 9 touchdowns in 2023. His standout performance against NC State, where he had 10 catches for 170 yards and two touchdowns, earned him ACC Wide Receiver of the Week honors.

Washington’s college career led to him being selected by the Dolphins in the sixth round (184th overall) of the 2024 NFL Draft. At the NFL Combine, he measured in at 5’8.5″ and 191 lbs, with a 4.47 40-yard dash and a 42.5-inch vertical jump. The Dolphins are hoping Washington can translate his college success to the professional level as he begins his NFL career.

Even before he has played hist first game as a pro, Washington is already a good first impression amongst Miami Dolphins fans because of the tattoo he just got. In a tweet Mike Garafolo shared on X, the rookie WR made a statement about his journey to  the NFL, causing fans to react to it.

“Turned out great. Love the ink.,” JDFinsFan said.

“Malik is going to be so good,” Matt Owen tweeted.

“Malik Washinton will be the steal of the 2024 NFL draft,” Chris Grier 1st Team AP reacted.

“Dudes gonna feast in Miami man wish he made it to Baltimore 😭,” Toast shared.

“Dope work cuz at the end of that day that will never change,” Shoal Nuff posted.

Washington’s tattoo contains his position in the 2024 NFL Draft and a strong declaration about his career in the league. This resulted in an empowering mantra for the rookie to use during his first year in the league.
