The connection between Marvin Harrison Jr. and Kyle McCord runs deep. While many know that they were teammates this season at Ohio State, few remember that they were also high school teammates at St. Joseph’s Prep School in Philadelphia. After McCord announced his intentions to enter the transfer portal, Harrison Jr. posted a short but heartfelt message on social media.

Marvin Harrison Jr. Reacts To Kyle McCord Entering Transfer Portal
Harrison Jr.’s message was simple. He posted the number six followed by an infinity symbol and a heart emoji. These two have been through so much together on the football field and Harrison Jr. recognizes that those two will always have a connection. While many were critical of McCord, Harrison Jr. had a great year with him under center. He caught 67 passes for 1,211 yards and 14 touchdowns, with a career-high 18.1 yards per catch. He is projected to be one of the top picks in the NFL Draft if he does decide to declare.
Mass Exodus From Ohio State
The Ohio State football program is bleeding talent right now. In the last 24 hours, a running back, three members of the secondary, and McCord have announced they will enter the transfer portal. Some of this is the nature of college football today but I’m sure some of it has to do with the program. The Buckeyes missed out on the College Football Playoff for the third year in a row. Players may be looking for a program that is going to give them more national attention and therefore better NIL opportunities.
Does the McCord move make it more likely that Harrison Jr. leaves? Maybe but Ohio State has more problems right now than whether Harrison Jr. is staying or leaving. Ryan Day has his work cut out for him this offseason.
