The Senior Bowl is a post-season college football all-star game played for NFL Draft prospects to showcase their abilities for those who completed their college eligibility.
One player that stood out so far at the Senior Bowl was Marshall Thundering Herd’s star, running back Rasheen Ali. Ali displayed his unique set of skills in different drills, displaying his quick feet, his moves to beat linebackers, his hands, and his speed.
Unfortunately, Ali is believed to have suffered a serious injury.

We’ll do a quick review of Ali’s collegiate career and how this injury affects his draft stock.
He had a great collegiate career with Marshall
Rasheen Ali committed to Marshall as a two-star recruit for the 2020 season. Ali appeared in six games in his redshirt freshman season, registering 22 yards on five carries and four kick returns for 76 yards.
Ali broke out in his redshirt freshman season, registering 1,401 yards on 250 carries (23 TDS), 45 receptions for 334 yards (1 TD), and one kick return for a 97-yard touchdown. Ali’s achievements include being named Team MVP, First Team All-Conference USA, and a FWAA Freshman All-American.
Ali sat out for the first ten games of his redshirt sophomore season because of an injury and personal reasons but played in their last three games, registering 273 yards on 43 carries (1 TD) and two receptions for 10 yards (1 TD). Ali won MVP of the Myrtle Beach Bowl, where he rushed for 92 yards on 15 carries, resulting in one touchdown.
Ali had a phenomenal redshirt junior season, registering 1,135 yards on 212 carries (15 TDS) and 28 receptions for 213 yards (1 TD). He was named to Sun-Belt’s Second Team Offense. He declared for the 2024 NFL Draft.
How does this injury impact his draft stock?
Heading into the pre-draft process, Ali was projected to be a day-three draft pick because he comes from a smaller school, he struggles in pass protection, struggles to create separation as a route runner, and is a straight-line runner who struggles to change directions.
Had Ali not injured his biceps, he could have increased his chances of boosting his draft stock by impressing at the Senior Bowl, Scouting Combine, and Pro Day.
Due to his injury, he may be drafted on day three or go undrafted, but could end up being the steal of the draft.
