Malik Nabers, wide receiver for the New York Giants, recently opened up about his close friendship with Jayden Daniels, his former LSU Tigers teammate. Nabers appeared on the ‘7PM in Brooklyn with Carmelo Anthony’ podcast recently and shared his opinions about Daniels, showering admiration and praise for the Washington Commanders quarterback.
Nabers played for the LSU Tigers from 2021 to 2023, about the same time when Daniels also played for the team. Nabers was eventually selected by the New York Giants as the sixth pick in the very first round of the NFL draft. Meanwhile, Daniels managed to be the second pick of the same round by the Commanders.
“I know his work ethic, and I know the work he’s put into it and I know how much of a teammate he is. That’s still my brother for life. I’m not changing who I am just because I play on this team. It’s never going to happen. He’s like the ultimate leader that we follow because he’s older than us.” Malik Nabers said about Jayden Daniels to Carmelo Anthony in the recent episode of his podcast.

Despite having a talented wide receiver like Malik Nabers, the New York Giants did not do too well in the 2024 NFL season. The Giants ended up finishing last in the NFC East table after winning only three games and losing 14. The Giants played their very last game of the year against the Philadelphia Eagles, losing 20-13.

Malik Nabers Feels Shedeur Sanders’ Draft Stock Shouldn’t Have Fallen
In the same podcast episode, Malik Nabers also took time to comment on Shedeur Sanders’ draft stock. Sanders, once expected to be the top prospect in the first round of the draft, ended up being pushed all the way to the fifth round to be selected as the 144th pick. Nabers mentioned that Sanders did not deserve to be treated this way at all.

Nabers also expressed that many of the accusations against Sanders don’t hold water and that the young quarterback has a terrific pass completion percentage even with a bad offensive line. Nabers was definitely in disbelief that Shedeur Sanders was only called out in the fifth round of the draft.

The New York Giants wide receiver theorized that all the hate toward Shedeur Sanders is because of his fame as a result of his father Deion Sanders. He also mentioned that the Sanders’ family is getting all this hate for ‘doing everything right’.
