The New York Giants announced devastating news for their team with two days to go before they take on the Seattle Seahawks in a must-win game in Week 5. The Giants are 1-3 entering the contest, and their hopes of making the playoffs could be all but over if they can’t get a jumpstart victory in Seattle on Sunday.
The New York Giants are playing a team coming off a loss
The Seahawks are entering the matchup looking to get back to their winning ways. Under new head coach Mike Macdonald, the Seahawks were 3-0 before dropping their first game of the season in a 42-29 game against the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football in Week 4.
The Giants offense, which struggled mightily against the shorthanded Dallas Cowboys in Week 4, will be without their best player on offense, and they could be down another offensive weapon on Sunday.
Malik Nabers has been ruled out in Week 5
Per the Giants injury report on Friday, the team has ruled out wide receiver Malik Nabers against the Seahawks for a concussion he suffered at the end of the game against the Cowboys. Running back Devin Singletary is doubtful due to a groin injury.
Nabers has been the most productive player on the Giants offense this season. Of his league-leading 52 targets this fall, the No. 6 pick in April’s draft has caught 35 passes for 386 yards and three touchdowns. Losing the standout rookie out of LSU is a killer for Daniel Jones and the Giants.
Singletary has carried the ball 56 times for 221 yards and two touchdowns. The former FAU running back rushed 14 times for 24 yards against the Cowboys.
